Spotlight on LOVE Kendall County Kids: Making a Difference for Local Children in Need

In the scenic Hill Country, Kendall County thrives with its rolling landscapes and warm, close-knit community. But did you know that nearly 1 in 6 children here face food insecurity? It’s a surprising statistic that LOVE Kendall County Kids is tackling head-on. This all-volunteer nonprofit has one central mission: ensuring that every child in our community is nourished, safe, and given opportunities to thrive.

What is LOVE Kendall County Kids?

Founded in 2015, LOVE Kendall County Kids began by providing summer meals to children who qualify for the National School Lunch Program. Over the years, the organization has expanded to offer various forms of assistance to children and their families all year long. Working hand-in-hand with local schools, churches, nonprofits, and businesses, and they address urgent needs that can make a lasting difference.

Here’s a glimpse at their impactful work:

  • Food Support: provides meals during school breaks and times when access to food can be limited.

  • Safe and Comfortable Living Spaces: Through their “Beds for Kids” program, they offer beds to children who otherwise lack a comfortable place to sleep.

  • Access to Activities: sponsors camp scholarships to ensure kids can enjoy enriching activities, from summer camps to school clubs.

  • Home Repairs and Supplies: Families in need also receive support for essential home repairs and school supplies, like backpacks and more.
